In the field of materials science and industrial applications, MY08 low viscosity polybutylene terephthalate resin (PBT resin) has become the material of choice for many manufacturing industries due to its excellent physical properties, processing characteristics and thermal stability. However, in order to ensure that MY08 low viscosity PBT resin can maintain its optimal performance during storage, humidity control is considered a critical factor.
The effect of humidity on MY08 low viscosity PBT resin is significant. Excessive humidity causes the resin to absorb moisture, which in turn triggers a hydrolysis reaction, which has a negative impact on the physical properties and processing properties of the resin. Hydrolysis refers to the chemical reaction between resin molecules and water molecules in a high temperature and high humidity environment, resulting in a decrease in molecular weight and degree of polymerization, which ultimately affects the mechanical properties of the resin, including tensile strength and impact strength. In addition, hydrolysis may also affect the thermal stability and processing properties of the resin, such as melt flow rate and fluidity during injection molding.
MY08 low viscosity PBT resin is highly sensitive to humidity, which means that its properties are more likely to change in a humid environment. Therefore, during storage, humidity must be strictly controlled to prevent performance degradation due to moisture absorption. In order to ensure that MY08 low viscosity PBT resin maintains its optimal performance during storage, humidity control of the storage environment is particularly important.
The ideal storage humidity range should be controlled between 50% and 70% relative humidity. This humidity range can effectively avoid hydrolysis caused by excessive moisture absorption of the resin, while reducing static electricity accumulation and dust pollution caused by low humidity. In addition, in order to avoid damage to the performance of the resin due to high humidity, the maximum storage humidity should not exceed 80% relative humidity. In high humidity seasons or regions, effective dehumidification measures, such as the use of dehumidifiers or desiccants, are particularly needed to maintain a suitable storage environment.
In addition to controlling absolute humidity, the amplitude of humidity fluctuations is equally important. Frequent humidity changes may lead to the accumulation of internal stress in the resin, which in turn affects its long-term stability. Therefore, drastic fluctuations in humidity should be avoided as much as possible in the storage environment to ensure the performance stability of MY08 low viscosity PBT resin.
