Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless, transparent, ether-like organic solvent. It is widely used in chemical synthesis and industrial production due to its excellent solubility and wide chemical reactivity. Storage temperature

Humidity control
Humidity is an important factor affecting the quality of THF. Since THF is extremely sensitive to moisture, excessive humidity will cause it to undergo hydrolysis, thereby reducing its purity and quality. Therefore, the environment for storing THF should be kept dry and the relative humidity should be controlled below 50%. To achieve this goal, it is recommended to install dehumidification equipment in the storage facility and regularly monitor the humidity level to ensure that it is always within the ideal range.
Light management
Long-term light exposure will trigger chemical reactions in THF, resulting in its quality degradation. Therefore, the storage environment of THF should avoid direct sunlight and ultraviolet radiation. Storage facilities should be equipped with blackout curtains or sunshades to effectively reduce the impact of light on THF, thereby protecting its chemical stability.
Fire and explosion prevention measures
As a flammable and explosive organic solvent, THF vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. Therefore, the environment for storing THF must strictly prohibit smoking and fire, and be equipped with necessary fire-fighting facilities such as fire extinguishers and fire hydrants. At the same time, good ventilation conditions are the key to reducing the concentration of THF vapor, and storage facilities should be designed with sufficient ventilation systems. In addition, THF storage containers must be well sealed to prevent the risk of volatilization and leakage.
Storage container requirements
The containers for storing THF should comply with relevant safety standards, and usually use suitable containers such as dedicated chemical reagent bottles or iron barrels. These containers must have good sealing properties to prevent THF from volatilization and leakage. During storage, the sealing of the container should be checked regularly to ensure that it is intact. At the same time, clear warning signs and hazard information should be marked on the surface of the container to remind operators to pay attention to safe operation.
